Okay a little departure from me being a grumpy bastard today.
Kiva is a micro loan place. Basically for people in developing countries to get a small loan (around $US500) in order to build a business.
You don't get any interest back or anything, but if they pay it back (and most of them do), you can re-give that amount to another person.
I tend to like giving to people in agriculture for some weird reason.
Min donation per person is $US25, and say they need $US500, the rest is made up of a bunch of other people.

I tend to run in phases of giving to charity (me and Lana also sponsor 2 children via World Vision). Normally when I've blown a lot of cash on something frivolous, I feel a little too guilty. Which is why I just gave out a bunch more loans....update on purchase in another post....
